GLOBAL EFFECT: POMACTIV® HFV

Effects :

  • Compensation of the estrogens deficiency by phyto-estrogens providing
  • Fight against hot flushes
  • Fight against bone demineralization
  • Fight against weight gain
  • Fight against the cutaneous loosening

Thanks to its multiple effects, Pomactiv® Hfv is essential for any formulation wishing to treat the overall menopause related troubles.

Mechanisms of action :

The phyto-estrogens are part of the polyphenols class. Six families of molecules, identified by the AFSSA* (French agency for the food safety), can use this claim. The most studied ones are the isoflavones, generally extracted from soya. The AFSSA also indexed chalcons, and especially phloretin (the phloridzin aglycone) as having phyto-estrogenic properties.

PHYTO-ESTROGENIc effect

Phloridzin phyto-estrogenic properties are well known. Recently, it was discovered that quercetin, a phenolic compound particularly abundant in apple, had also phyto-estrogenic effects.
Moreover, studies showed that quercetin and phloridzin (both present in Pomactiv® Hfv) acted in a synergetic way with isoflavones by increasing their bioavailability**.

FIGHT AGAINST Hot flushes

Bioflavonoïdes like quercetin are powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds. They contribute to the vessels protection. Because of their capacity to reinforce the capillaries, they reduce hot flushes arising.

FIGHT AGAINST bone DEMINERALIZATION

An in vitro study was undertaken by Val de Vire Bioactives. Its purpose was to evaluate the effects of Pomactiv® Hfv on the differentiation of strain cells into osteoblasts (cells building the bone). The results showed an activity on 2 identified markers :

FIGHT AGAINST WEIGHT GAIN AND CUTANEOUS LOOSENING

The efficiency of Pomactiv® Hfv on weight management and cutaneous renewal was demonstrated by in vitro test.
